Through his contacts in the jewelry capital of Pforzheim, Carl Schinle recognised the great demand in the jewelry sector for professionally crafted thread for the production of chokers and necklaces. Carl Schinle met this ever-growing demand for fine-spun natural silk under the GRIFFIN trademark and rapidly established himself as the leading manufacturer of silk thread. The griffin, taken from the crest of his home town Schramberg, became the seal of quality for beading thread made of pure silk.
